Face Lift by Dr. Brian Windle

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Rhytidectomy or more commonly known as a face lift, is a surgical procedure used to rejuvenate and improve the appearance of the face

The best candidates for this procedure are men and women whose face and neck have begun to sag but who still have some elasticity and whose bone structure is strong and well-defined. A face lift can make you look younger and may enhance your self-confidence.

he vast majority of men and women do not experience any of these complications. You need to discuss these issues with Dr. Windle prior to your surgery to be sure you completely understand the basic risks along with any other special risks that may be involved.

At your initial consultation, Dr. Windle will evaluate your general health, examine your face, condition of your skin, your underlying bone structure, and explain the procedure to you along with the risks of the procedure. In addition, your doctor will give you different options based on your particular situation. After meeting with Dr. Windle, he will tell you what he thinks is a realistic expectation for your situation. Photographs will be taken and possible alterations can be made on the computer screen to give you an idea of what changes you can expect to see as a result of your facelift.

The recovery period following a face lift will consist of some numbness, swelling, and bruising in the face. Your drainage tubes will be removed 2-3 days after surgery when your drainage has slowed down. You will need to keep your head elevated for a couple of weeks. You will have some scars from your facelift but the majority will be hidden in your hair and the rest will be placed in the natural creases of your face and ears. In time, they will fade and be scarcely visible.

Lunch Time Botox in the Big Apple

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

The thought of paralysis of a muscle is quite frightening but this procedure has been used successfully in ophthalmology for many years and over the last several years in plastic surgery with minimal to no complications. When used in the forehead and mid-eye brow region, lines are literally erased when the area is treated. Fine lines around the eyes and “crows feet” may also be treated with this modality. Overactive muscle in the neck which can cause banding in the neck has also been treated successfully with BOTOX® cosmetic injections.

BOTOX® is not permanent, and must be repeated every three to six months. Studies have shown, however, that after repeated treatments, many times the muscle becomes extremely weak and the time between injections can increase.

The procedure itself is fast. Many clients will schedule during their lunch hour for a quick in and out session. Call Dr. Tornambe’s office today for your appointment.

Your eyes are the first thing others see when they look at your face. An immediate impression is formed about your age, energy, and fatigue level. Often you feel well rested and full of energy, but to others you look tired. Many of patients come in telling me that people comment that they look tired when in fact they are not. This can create a significant negative impression, both socially and professionally. And when it comes to rejuvenation of the eyes this concern is the most common reason people seek help.

As we age, we lose volume in certain parts of our face while we gain volume in other parts. Generally speaking, the region around our eyes and cheeks begins to lose fat, while the jowls and neck begins to gain fat. This progression has little to do with your body weight. The fat volume in the upper cheek and around the eyes is genetically predisposed to volume loss. Adding volume is the most effective way of rejuvenating the eyes. The real advantage is that it is non-surgical and highly effective

Facial Implants in Santa Monica

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Plastic surgeons use facial implants to improve and enhance facial contours. Frequently, these implants will help provide a more harmonious balance to your face and features so that you feel better about the way you look. There are many implants available, manufactured from a variety of materials. They may help strengthen a jaw line or bring the chin or cheekbones into balance with the rest of the face.

Cheek implant surgery usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes. When cheek implants are being placed in conjunction with another cosmetic procedure, such as a facelift, forehead lift or eyelid surgery, the implants may be inserted through the incisions made for those procedures. Otherwise, an incision will be made either inside your upper lip or your lower eyelid. A pocket is then formed and an implant is inserted.

If it is the chin that you are looking to have improved the surgery is similar to the cheek. Insertion of a chin implant may take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. During the procedure, the surgeon selects the proper size and shape implant to enhance your appearance and inserts it into a pocket over the front of the jawbone. The small incision to create the pocket and insert the implant is placed inside the mouth (along the lower lip) or in the skin just under the chin area.

As we age, the eyebrows begin to shift downward from the inexorable pull of gravity. The Tissues around the mouth roll inward forming the Nasolabial Folds (fold from the corner of the nose to the mouth) and the Jowls (fold from the corner of the mouth to the jaw). Similar aging and tissue shifting occurs in the neck where tissues slides towards the midline accumulating under the chin. Reversing the signs of facial aging used to mean some type of open facelift. Although the facelift still remains the gold standard for facial rejuvenation, clearly there are many individuals seeking a more youthful appearance who do not need a facelift. The Thread Lift and Suture Suspension Lifts are a great way to roll back the clock and look years younger with a minimally invasive procedure.

Rhinoplasty can be performed to alter nasal size or shape whether it is traumatic or genetically acquired. Unattractive nasal features such as a wide bulbous tip, wide nasal bridge, large dorsal hump, malformed/asymmetric tip, crooked nose, or a deviated septum causing breathing problems are readily correctable. Even in the case of prior surgery, the nose can most often be substantially softened and the overall shape vastly improved.

Contact Dr. Palmers office today for your consultation. His friendly staff will set you up with an appointment, and ease your mind of any questions you may have.

Facial Surgery in Santa Monica

Facial rejuvenation includes both surgical and non-surgical options with the goal of achieving natural and pleasing results. Simple preventive steps can help delay the appearance of aging and improve surgical outcomes at any age. Facial rejuvenation and enhancement in the male patient is different than in the female patient. Often, techniques that are commonly utilized in women cause an unnatural and feminine look in the male patient.

A neck lift is a very individualized procedure in which your goals should be realistically determined and discussed with your physician in Santa Monica. Together you will determine what specific procedures will be performed. A neck lift is often performed in conjunction with other procedures such as a face lift and chin augmentation to enhance the balance of the patient’s facial features. Once your goals have been determined, you will set a date for this procedure in Santa Monica and will be given instructions about how to prepare.

Forehead lift is often performed in conjunction with a facelift to provide a smoother overall look to the face. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) may also be performed at the same time as a forehead lift, especially if a patient has significant skin overhang in the upper eyelids. Sometimes, patients who believe they need upper-eyelid surgery find that a forehead lift better meets their surgical goals.

No matter what procedure you decide on, you can expect fantastic results by choosing Dr. Nabavian as your Plastic Surgeon. Contact his office today, to be on your way to a younger more youthful look.

Face Lift in North Carolina

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Sun exposure, the effects of gravity, and the stresses of daily life can age the face, jaw line, and neck of women and men. A facelift, however, can help alleviate the signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening muscles, and redraping skin on the face, neck, and jowls. This cosmetic procedure can be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift or eyelid surgery to achieve maximum results.

Surgical enhancement of the face can be achieved through a facelift, mini facelift, neck lift, or brow lift. Non-surgical options include injectable fillers like Juvéderm™, Restylane®, and Radiesse®, lasers, professional skin care products, and BOTOX®. Stillwater Plastic Surgery is one of the most experienced practices in the Lake Norman and Charlotte areas with the use of Juvéderm, Restylane, and BOTOX, and often use these and other non-invasive options to enhance surgical results.
